Classic Collection - Bluenose

First named ESCAPE-later renamed JAVA, the original CONCORDIA YAWL, was commissioned and won her first race in 1939. Shortly thereafter, Waldo Howland acquired historic South Wharf in the coastal village of Padanaram, Massachusetts, and began the slow transformation of Concordia Company into the world-famous yacht builder. A total of 103 boats were built, making this the largest class of large one-design wooden sailboats in the history of the sport. All 103 survive today.
Although the first CONCORDIA YAWL was designed primarily as a daysailer, coastal cruiser and all-around family boat, it was the racing successes of the Concordia class that first caught the wide-spread attention of buyers.
Our model's beautifully finished natural teak cockpit is so exacting that it makes you wish you were out for a day's sail. This classic deck is natural teak brightwork. The brass fittings are superbly fashioned. This graceful hull is painted white above and a dark forest green below the waterline.
